Description:

Before the dam was raised, the Judy Company installed 27 anchors. The anchor design load was 190 kips and we tested the anchors up to 150% of the design load.

This project was especially difficult due the change in subsurface conditions encountered.   The Judy Company reacted quickly and notified the designer about the weathered rock found under the existing dam. To solve this problem a void consolidation program was designed to fill the voids and avoid fractures along the dam at the moment to stress the anchors. Our company used Low Mobility Grout to complete the void consolidation program before the anchors were installed.
