Since our
inception in 1922, The
Judy Company has established a stellar reputation for specializing
in difficult access projects. In situations where equipment is not
readily available or access is difficult, we have the expertise to
design and build instrumentation to perform the required
construction.
The Judy Company
has used innovative instrumentation in conjunction with excavation
and shoring challenges. A notable example of our instrumentation is
fully illustrated with the project involving the tall, 80-degree
retaining wall overlooking Lock and Dam #1 on the Mississippi River
in Minneapolis. We designed and built an elevating platform drill
that could install 85-feet high capacity rock anchors through the
crib walls and 1,350 rock bolts in the upper limestone face. With
the aid of a structural consultant, the Judy Company’s engineers
designed the unique drill and platform using ANSI, OSHA and Army
Corps of Engineers safety standards and requirements.
Our
instrumentation and systems integration have enabled us to have a
continuing string of successful projects and unique equipment
development capabilities. Based on our proven track record, we have
been certified by the U.S. Corps of Engineers and the U.S. Bureau of
Reclamation for our superior work in dam and reservoir maintenance.
