Consolidation Grouting

Judy Company’s number one priority is insuring customer safety on any job site or finished product.  Therefore, we feel it is imperative to explain the importance of consolidation grouting.  Consolidation grouting is the use of fluid grout to consolidate soil in and around a structure, usually a tunnel, so as to fill voids, either natural or caused by boring, around the concrete liner.

Many of our customers wonder, “Why do construction workers use consolidation grouting”? A good example is if you want to build or expand onto an existing three story apartment building, you would want to use consolidation grouting to stabilize loose soils beneath the apartment building.  If you do not use consolidation grouting then the foundation could become weak or un-stabilized over time.  If this happens, ultimately the foundation could potentially collapse.

Consolidation grouting injection can be carried out in more than one stage if necessary, using different mixtures. There are many advantages to this method. This characteristic often guarantees injection treatment success: a controlled volume of mixture is injected during the first stage to fill the larger voids, whilst injection is finished off with a more penetrating mix during the following stages.  Although, consolidation grouting takes great effort, we still ensure customer safety as a number one priority.  In the long run it will insure the safety of the overall foundation as well as the safety of the home owners and occupants.
