 Operations Manager

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Operations Manager with minimum 10 years of experience in the heavy construction industry. Experience in Heavy Construction or Geotechnical Construction required.
  • Experience in multiple construction projects up to $8 Million.
  • BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Geology preferred.
  • Must be able to handle fast-paced projects, as well as work closely with subcontractors, project managers, and others involved on the projects.
  • Experience managing projects with scheduling software.
  • Applicants must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Individuals must have strong interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to travel 25%-75% of the time, depending on project needs. (Primarily to central states)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Operations Manager has the ultimate responsibility over planning, execution to complete our projects at the profit margin established by the job estimate. Work will be completed professionally, safely, and will meet the standards set by the Owner.  Because of our quality of work, cost competitiveness, and responsiveness much of our work is for repeat customers.  The Operations Manager is a front line position that meets with the customers and their actions formulate the customers’ image of our company.

Job Duties:

    • Review jobs with Estimator prior to bid.
    • On awarded jobs, review with estimator and create project budget, select material suppliers, subcontractors, and assist with submittals.
    • Decide on equipment, personnel, and subcontractors.
    • Provide list of equipment/support to the Shop for mobilization.
    • Schedule job, order material, rental equipment, schedule subcontractors and transportation;
    • Coordinate with customer on equipment, personnel, and material arrival to jobsite and start dates.
    • Monitor project quality.
    • Monitor project progress, productivity, and budget.
    • Ensure work performed is limited to the work and procedures in our contract/subcontract and specification section.
    • Monitor project safety.
    • Communicate field activities to the corporate office through reports and periodical meetings.
